HACKENSACK, N.J. (Feb. 11, 2017) - The LIU Post women's fencing team wrapped up the 2016-17 season Saturday at the Fairleigh Dickinson University Invitational at Stratis Arena in Hackensack.
The Pioneers went 0-4 on the day, falling to Hunter College (15-2), Johns Hopkins University (25-2), Drew University (18-9) and Stevens Institute of Technology (24-3).
Junior
Chantelle Duncan (Valley Stream, N.Y.) led the green and gold with a 7-3 record in epee. She won two bouts apiece against Hunter, Drew and Stevens.
In sabre, senior
Katie Niemir (Mineola, N.Y.) earned four victories, two of which came versus Drew.
Senior
Sophie Michaelides (Whitestone, N.Y.) and sophomore
Jen Blanco (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) each claimed two wins in sabre and epee, respectively.
