Dance Places Third at New England Championship
WESTFIELD, Mass. (Mar. 2, 2014) - The LIU Post dance team traveled to Westfield State College in Westfield, Mass. on Sunday, and competed in the 2014 Universal Dance Association New England Championship. The Pioneers came in third at the event.
LIU Post danced in the College Open Jazz division, which included Adelphi University and Queens College, among others. In all, there were 11 different schools from the Northeast in the division.
"We couldn't have been more proud of how they performed today," Head Coach
Chris Klein said. "When [assistant coach] Angela and I taught the choreography, we had one goal in mind – Top-3. It was a long shot considering last year the team placed eighth, but we were determined to place. We finally think the team is ready to compete next year at the 2015 UDA College Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Florida."
The Pioneers finished with a score of 79.4, while Endicott, the first-place team, scored an 83.4.
