SPARKILL, N.Y. – Despite leading regionally-ranked Saint Thomas Aquinas College during the game's early stages, the LIU Post men's basketball team fell 124-76 to the Spartans Saturday afternoon inside Aquinas Hall Gymnasium.

Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor's 32 points were a game-high and his total marked his seventh game of 30 points or more this season while he also added four rebounds and three steals. Freshman
Kendell Ogilvie also contributed 18 points and three rebounds against the Spartans, ranked No. 3 in the NCAA Division II East Region.
LIU Post's 76 points tied its second-highest total of the season as the Pioneers also scored 76 points against the University of the District of Columbia on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
The Pioneers had an impressive start to the game and led during its early stages; Ogilvie's layup with 19:13 on the clock followed by another Ogilvie layup with 18:26 left in the half saw LIU Post lead 4-3. The Pioneers' biggest lead came with 15:12 left in the half after Ogilvie found his way to the basket for another layup that gave LIU post an 11-8 advantage. With 12:15 left in the half the Spartans took a 12-11 lead and never looked back. Ogilvie drove to the basket and converted on another layup with 0:02 remaining in the half; the Pioneers went into halftime down 61-38.
Led by Ortiz-Traylor, who poured in 21 points in the half, the Pioneers fought hard but could not chip away at the Spartans lead as STAC went onto prevail 124-76.
