Miller & Bell of Field Hockey Honored as NFHCA All-Americans

2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division II All-America Team

GILBERT, Ariz. – 
Senior Emily Miller and sophomore Sammy Bell of the LIU Post field hockey team were recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Monday as the duo were named to the Longstreth/NFHCA Division II All-America Team. Miller was a first team honoree and Bell was named to the second team.
 

Miller, named an All-American by the NFHCA for the third time, was a Synapse Sports All-America First Team honoree, competed in the NFHCA Senior Game on Saturday, Dec. 1 and was named to the NE10 All-Conference First Team. She holds the program record in points with 213 and goals with 91. Miller was second nationally in points and points per game with 65 and 3.61 average. She led NCAA Division II in assists per game with 0.83 and tied for the lead in assists with 15. Her 1.39 goals per game ranked second in the nation and her 25 goals were third.
 
Bell was a Synapse Sports All-America Second Team honoree, was named to NE10 All-Conference First Team and finished second on the team, sixth in the NE10 and eighth in the nation in goals with 16. She had 39 points which was second on the team, sixth in the NE10 and ninth in the nation while she was second the team, sixth in the NE10 tied for seventh in the nation in assists with seven.
