ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Sophomore
Sydney Pasquarella scored her third goal of the week as the LIU Post women's soccer team took down Molloy College, 3-0 Saturday, Sept. 22.
Pasquarella tallied the game-winner just 2:34 into the contest on an assist by junior
Paige Sherlock. The goal was just one of 10 first-half shot attempts for the Pioneers as LIU Post outshot Molloy 10-0 during the opening 45 minutes. The offensive onslaught continued early for the Green and Gold when redshirt-junior
Alice Schonfeldt buried a penalty kick for her second goal of the season during the 11th minute to double the Pioneer advantage. Junior
Julia Duffy capped off the fireworks with her fifth tally of the season during the 25th minute, taking a cross from sophomore
Erin O'Connor for the game's final goal.
Molloy fired five shots on goal during the second half but senior goalkeeper
Hillevi Eklow stopped all five attempts to earn the shutout victory.
The Pioneers continue their four-game road trip on Wednesday, Sept. 26 when they take on Pace University under the lights at Pace Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
