MAHWAH, N.J. (Apr. 2, 2017)
- On Saturday, the LIU Post men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Roadrunner Invitational, hosted by Ramapo College in Mahwah.

The men's team, which finished eighth out of 25 teams, was led by freshman Jeffrey Reyes (Bay Shore, N.Y.), who won a pair of long-distance events at the meet.

Reyes placed first in the 800- and 1,500-meter run, clocking respective times of 1:59.72 and 4:07.58. He also ran the third leg of the Pioneers' 4 x 400-meter relay, which came in third at 3:23.80.

Meanwhile, in the 4 x 100-meter relay, the team of senior Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.), red-shirt juniors Ramel Joseph (Jamaica, N.Y.) and Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) and red-shirt sophomore Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) posted a second-place time of 43.96.

In the 200-meter dash, the Pioneers had three different runners finish in the Top-15. Ward crossed at a fourth-place clocking of 22.81. Joseph followed in 11th at 23.21. Thomas ran 14th at 23.40.

Then, in the 800-meter run, Adams was seventh, crossing at 2:00.87. Sophomore Lance Edwards (Stratford, Conn.) recorded a 2:05.26 clocking.

In the field events, freshman Liam Hendricks (St. James, N.Y.) placed seventh in the discus throw, after recording a toss of 42.41 meters (139 feet, 2 inches). Fellow freshman Twary McKenzie (Huntington, N.Y.) came in eighth in the triple jump and 10th in the long jump with respective leaps of 13.10 meters (42 feet, 11.75 inches) and 6.12 meters (20 feet, 1 inch).

The women's team, which finished in a tie for seventh out of 28 teams, got a strong showing from freshman Nicolette Agostinacchio (Wantagh, N.Y.), who placed fourth in the 400-meter dash at 1:01.90.

Additionally, she teamed up with graduate Ashlin Conroy (Syosset, N.Y.), sophomore Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) and freshman Alexandria Okon (Laurel, Md.) to post a third-place time of 4:13.32 in the 4 x 400-meter relay.

Junior Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) was second in the 1,500-meter run (4:50.02) and fourth in the 800-meter run (2:24.40). Conroy came in fourth (4:57.75) and sixth (2:29.40) in the same two events.

Okon finished fifth in the 400-meter dash, after clocking a 1:01.92.

Lastly, freshman Nicole Costanzo (Nesconset, N.Y.) eclipsed a fourth-place height of 1.53 meters (5 feet, 0,25 inches) in the high jump. She contributed a 10th-place showing (9.91 meters) in the triple jump, as well.

Head Coach Kevin Buckley and the Pioneers return to action next Saturday (Apr. 8), when they run at the Oscar Moore Invitational, hosted by Rowan University in Glassboro.
