CHANDLER, Ariz. (Mar. 7, 2017) - On Tuesday, the LIU Post field hockey team was selected as a 2016 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II National Academic Team.
The Pioneers, who advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship game for the third time in four years, posted a 3.43 grade-point average in the Fall 2016 semester.
The green and gold were also one of just 29 programs from Division II to be recognized. Southern New Hampshire led all schools with a 3.68 GPA.
The NFHCA National Academic Team Award honors those institutions that achieved a minimum team grade-point average of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
