Miller, Zelkovsky, Gysels Named to NFHCA All-America Teams

Gilbert, Ariz.| Thirty-two student-athletes were selected to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II All-American Team and amongst the winners were juniors Emily Miller, Julie Gysels, and senior Kaycee Zelkovsky, which was announced on Monday.
 
For Miller, it's her second NFHCA All-American First-Team selection in as many years, having appeared on the First-Team last season. In 2017, the midfielder was second in the nation in goals (40), goals per game (1.74), and points-per-game (3.78). Earlier this year Miller, tallied a career-high six goals to match the program's single-season goal record and tallied a hat trick in LIU Post's NCAA Final Four 3-0 victory over Millersville on Nov. 17 to break program's single-season goal record.
 
Gysels is a first-time NFHCA All-American following a season in which she was the Pioneers most consistent player. The midfielder appeared in all 23 games this season, recording three goals and adding 10 assists for 16 points. The Boom, Belgium native is currently 15th in the nation in assists-per-game (0.43). 
 
Zelkovsky, a two-time All-Conference nod member, receives her first All-American honor. Zelkovsky establish herself as a goal-scoring threat potting 14 goals, which is a second-best on the team. The Lambertville, NJ native is also second on the team in assists (13) and is third in the nation in assists-per-game (.57). Zelkovsky also contributed to the Pioneers' offense in the win over Millersville with an assist on Miller's goal early in the second half.
