Kaycee Zelkovsky appeared on the Second-Team as the LIU Post field hockey team collected a trio of end-of-season NE-10 Conference awards, which were announced on the conference website on Wednesday.
Additionally, freshmen Sammy Bell and Rachel Vellis were selected to the All-Rookie team.
For Miller, it's her second All-Conference selection in as many years, having appeared on the First-Team last season. In 2017, the midfielder was second in the conference in goals (36), and points (78). Miller tallied a career-high six goals to match the program's single-season goal record. The Bridgewater, NJ native is currently second in the nation in points-per-game (4.11) and goals-per-game (1.89).
Gysels is a first-time All-Conference team member following a season in which she has the Pioneers most consistent player. The midfielder appeared in all 19 games this season, recording three goals and adding nine assists for 15 points. The Boom, Belgium native is currently 12th in the nation in assists-per-game.
Zelkovsky earns her second All-Conference nod two years after being named to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team. Zelkovsky establish herself as a goal-scoring threat potting 14 goals, which is a second-best on the team. The
Lambertville, NJ native is also second on the team in assists (12) and is third in the nation in assists-per-game (3).
Sammy Bell earns All-Rookie nods after an impressive rookie season that saw her tally 30 points on nine goals and 12 assists. The freshman ranks second on the team in assists and third in goals. The Milngavie, Glasgow, United Kingdom native's best outing of the came in a 11-1 win at Southern Conn. State on October 10, when she recorded the first hat trick of her career.
In her first year between the cages, Rachel Vellis has compiled six shutouts and registered a 16-3-0 record. She is currently third in the conference in goals-against average (1.25)
