Sparkill, N.Y. – The #6 LIU Post men's soccer team scored twice in the second half to extended its unbeaten streak to 12 games with a 2-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College on the road on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Pioneers move to 12-0-2 on the season and remain atop the ECC standings with a 6-0-1 conference mark. The Spartans, now 5-8-1 on the year and 3-5-0 in conference play, sit at seventh of the ECC table.
After a scoreless first half, Lukas Ostermann netted the game's first goal when he directed home a corner kick by Harry Pearse in the 53rd minute.
Nearly 30 minutes later, Charlie Ledula one-touched a deflection off Nick Kjaer Andersen in the box to take down the Spartans 2-0.
Now with a team-best 11 tallies on the year, Ledula has scored five goals and 10 points in the last five games.
Oliver Hessner Hansen recorded three saves in a match that saw his side outshoot its opponent 13-11.
