FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (Jan. 22, 2017)
- On Sunday, the LIU Post women's bowling team finished third at the Westchester Community College Invitational, hosted at Farmingdale Lanes in Farmingdale.

The tandem of sophomore Emily McLaughlin (Seaford, N.Y.) and freshman Brielle Spillett (Yaphank, N.Y.), both of whom were named to the All-Tournament Team, won their first-ever doubles title with a total pinfall of 1,077.

SpillettĀ contributed games of 179-166-197 for a 545 series, while McLaughlin posted a 185-159-188 for a 532 series.

In singles, McLaughlin and Spillett each bowled to Top-5 finishes. McLaughlin came in fourth with a 566 series, including a high game of 203. Spillett followed in fifth with a 531 series.

Freshman Alexis Kosakavich (Plainview, N.Y.) led the Pioneers in the Baker portion of the tournament, striking on nine of her 20 shots for a 997 pinfall. Senior Stefania Cuomo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) contributed a 945 series. Freshman Vickie Lewis (Patchogue, N.Y.) had a total pinfall of 881 on the day.

Head Coach Edward Raven and his LIU Post squad return to the lanes on Saturday, Feb. 4, when they compete at the Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Championship in Manalapan, N.J.
