Women's Bowling Takes First Place at Metro Classic

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – Three individuals averaged games over 178 to help the LIU Post women's bowling team to its first title of the 2018-19 season at the Metro Classic at AMF Babylon on Saturday, Feb. 16.
 
The one-day total pinfall event featured six teams, with the Pioneers edging out East Coast Conference rival Molloy College by 60 pins as LIU Post posted a team score of 6,081 to capture first place.
 
In addition to the team event, sophomore Patricia Kelly took home first place in the singles portion of the event, tallying scores of 230 and 174 during two games to take the crown. Freshman Nicole Lettich added a fifth-place finish with an average of 185 during the individual portion of the event.
 
Sophomore Emily Cavanaugh led LIU Post overall on the day, notching a six-game average of 181 with a single-game high of 217. Lettich and Kelly were close behind with averages of 178.83 and 178.67, respectively, with all three earning all-tournament accolades.
