COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 21, 2017) - On Saturday, the LIU Post men's and women's indoor track and field teams performed to a pair of Top-10 showings at the Collegeville Classic, hosted by Ursinus College at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center in Collegeville.
The Pioneer women earned a fourth-place finish, and narrowly missed placing second by two points. Meanwhile, the men's team was ninth out of 19 squads at the meet.
Senior 
Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.) led the men's side with a winning time of 51.05 in the 400-meter dash.
In the 200-meter dash, the Pioneers had three runners finish in the Top-10. Red-shirt junior 
Ramel Joseph (Jamaica, N.Y.) came in fifth, after crossing at 23.48. Red-shirt sophomore 
Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) followed in seventh at 23.60. Red-shirt junior
 Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) sprinted to a 10th-place time of 23.67.
In the field events, freshman 
Twary McKenzie (Huntington, N.Y.) recorded a second-place leap of 13.04 meters (42 feet, 9.5 inches) in the triple jump. Red-shirt freshman
 Angelo Fradelakis (Patchogue, N.Y.) added a personal-best 10.87-meter (35 feet, 8 inches) heave in the shot put.
For the women, graduate 
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) won the 5,000-meter run in 18:40.93 and ran the anchor mile of the green and gold's distance medley relay, which finished first at 12:54.15.
Junior 
Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.), who also placed third (2:23.91) in the 800-meter run, bested her opposition in the mile with a 5:09.29 clocking. Freshman 
Alexandria Okon (Laurel, Md.) had a fourth-place showing (2:26.33) in the 800-run.
Freshman 
Nicole Costanzo (Nesconset, N.Y.) came in third in the high jump, eclipsing a height of 1.50 meters (4 feet, 11 inches). Fellow freshman 
Kaitlyn Klein (Richmondville, N.Y.) took fifth in the shot put with a throw of 11.45 meters (37 feet, 6.75 inches).

Kevin Buckley and the Pioneers return to action on Friday, Feb. 3, when they compete at the Metropolitan Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex at noon in Staten Island, N.Y.
