Field Hockey Enters NFHCA Top-10 Poll at No. 7

CHANDLER, Ariz. (Sept. 13, 2016) - On Tuesday, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association released its first regular-season poll of 2016, and LIU Post cracked the Top-10 at No. 7 in the tally.

The Pioneers are coming off a pair of wins against nationally-ranked foes last week, defeating then-No. 3 West Chester, 5-2, on Wednesday and top-ranked East Stroudsburg, 1-0, on Monday.

In total, LIU Post has outscored its opposition, 9-2, through its first three contests. The Pioneers' scoring margin of 3.0 goals per game ranks third-best amongst Division II schools.

Sophomore forward/midfielder Emily Miller (Bridgewater, N.J.), who has four goals on the year, currently leads the nation in goals per game (2.0) and points per game (4.0).

Head Coach Raenee Savin and her LIU Post squad return to action Saturday (Sept. 17), when they open Northeast-10 Conference play in North Andover, Mass. at Merrimack College at noon.
