Zelkovsky Honored as NFHCA Scholar of Distinction

CHANDLER, Ariz. (Mar. 23, 2016) - LIU Post field hockey sophomore forward Kaycee Zelkovsky (Lambertville, N.J.) has been tabbed a 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II Scholar of Distinction, it was announced Wednesday.

Student-athletes selected as Scholars of Distinction have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.90 or higher through the fall semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

Zelkovsky, a 3.9 GPA student in Speech-Language Pathology, collected three goals and two assists in 2015 for eight points. One of her tallies was the game-winner in a 2-0 victory at Dowling College on Sept. 30.

Zelkovsky is also the second Pioneer to repeat as an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction. She joins former LIU Post standout Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa), who earned the honor in 2013 and 2014.
