CHANDLER, Ariz. (Oct. 4, 2016) - For the second week in a row, the LIU Post field hockey team has held the No. 1 ranking in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II Poll, announced Tuesday.
The Pioneers, who are now 8-0 on the year, are still the only undefeated team in the country. They received 196 points and 18 first-place votes in this week's balloting.
LIU Post knocked off another nationally-ranked opponent last week, as it defeated then-No. 7 Saint Anselm, 2-1, in overtime on Saturday, following a 4-1 rout of Pace on Thursday.
Shippensburg moved up a spot to No. 2 in the poll, gathering 166 points and one first-place vote. Millersville rose to No. 3, while East Stroudsburg dropped two spots to No. 4.
Through eight games, sophomore forward/midfielder
Emily Miller (Bridgewater, N.J.) is averaging 1.0 goal per contest, which is tied for third-best in Division II. Meanwhile, senior midfielder
Steph Mocerino (Andover, N.J.) ranks fourth in the nation in assists per game (0.5).
As a team, the Pioneers are outscoring their opposition by the fifth-highest margin (+2.05 goals per game) in the country.

Raenee Savin and the Pioneers are back in action Wednesday (Oct. 5), when they face Northeast-10 Conference rival and 10th-ranked Adelphi University at 7 p.m. in Garden City, N.Y.
