FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (Oct. 30, 2016) - The LIU Post women's bowling team opened up its inaugural year of competition Sunday at Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Meet #1 at Farmingdale Lanes.
The Pioneers (1-5) defeated Army for their lone victory of the day, outscoring the Black Knights, 613-587.
Freshman
Brielle Spillett (Yaphank, N.Y.) led the green and gold with a total pinfall of 921. Fellow freshman
Alexis Kosakavich (Plainview, N.Y.) recorded a 908 total pinfall.
Freshman
Vickie Lewis (Patchogue, N.Y.) had the high game for LIU Post in her collegiate debut, bowling a 207.
"I was very proud of our girls today, as they showed that they have a promising future ahead of them," Head Coach
Edward Raven said. "They hung tough in nearly every game and showed great teamwork and camaraderie."
Raven and the Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Meet #2 in Oakdale, N.J.
