CHANDLER, Ariz. (Oct. 11, 2016) - After losing its first two games of 2016 last week, the LIU Post field hockey team slipped to No. 5 in Tuesday's National Field Hockey Coaches Association Top-10 Poll.
The Pioneers dropped a pair of one-goal decisions, falling to then-No. 10 Adelphi in overtime and Southern New Hampshire by identical 2-1 counts.
Shippensburg earned the No. 1 ranking in the poll, tallying 169 points and 14 first-place votes. East Stroudsburg sat at No. 2 with 141 points and three first-place nods. LIU Post got the last first-place vote, in addition to collecting 112 points.
The Pioneers are currently averaging the sixth-most goals per game in Division II at 2.5. Sophomore forward/midfielder
Emily Miller (Bridgewater, N.J.) individually leads the nation in points per game (2.3) and goals per game (1.0).
