Crouse Named Capital One® At-Large Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas (Jun. 10, 2015) - Recent graduate Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) of the LIU Post field hockey team was selected to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division II At-Large First Team on Wednesday.

Crouse, a 4.0 student in her time in Brookville, continues to pile up the honors for her academic achievements this past year. She was named to the NFHCA/Gladiator National Academic Squad, and earned the first-ever NFHCA Division II National Scholar-Athlete Award. The defender was also recognized as a 2014 SGI/NFHCA Division II Scholar of Distinction for her work in the classroom and in the field of special education.

Crouse's accolades off the field are matched by her performance on the field this season, as she was one of several key players on a Pioneers' squad that made its second-straight NCAA Division II National Championship appearance. She received both the Northeast-10 Conference and ECAC Defensive Player of the Year awards, and was a First-Team All-America honoree, courtesy of Synapse Sports and the NFHCA.

The recent graduate totaled 26 points on the campaign, including nine goals, and recorded an assist in the team's 3-2 victory over Stonehill on Dec. 4 in the NCAA National Semifinals. In 44 career games as a Pioneer, Crouse collected 52 points on 15 goals and 22 assists. Six of those 15 tallies proved to be game-winners.
