GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (Mar. 23, 2015) - On Saturday, the LIU Post women's tennis team endured the cold weather to aid in the St. Joseph School Spirit 5K and Fun Run.

The Pioneers served as course marshals at the event, while also handing out giveaways and organizing fun activities for children.

Head Coach Darrel Bielawski laced up his running shoes and clocked a time of 26:00.1 in the 5k.

All proceeds from the race benefited the advanced development of programs at the school.

"It was great to see the team working together to help out the St. Joseph School and the Garden City community," said Bielawski. "Seeing the kids enjoy and finish the race was an uplifting experience. We are looking forward to the next volunteering event as a team."
