GRAND LAKE, Colo. (Aug. 20, 2014) - On Tuesday, LIU Post women's lacrosse seniors Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Melissa Rohr (Bethpage, N.Y.) were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division II Academic Honor Roll.

The IWLCA honored 149 student-athletes from 45 Division II institutions across the nation with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or greater. Sileo boasted a 3.74 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Rohr posted a 3.82 GPA with a concentration in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Not only did the pair excel in the classroom, they were successful on the lacrosse field. Both Sileo and Rohr were selected to represent the North squad at the 2014 IWLCA North-South All-Star Game in Grand Lake, Colo.

Sileo, a two-time national champion, left it all out on the field in her four seasons in an LIU Post uniform. She finished her career with 195 goals and 369 helpers for 564 points, which ranks as the No. 1 all-time total in NCAA women's lacrosse history.

Sileo started in all 20 games for the Pioneers last season and led all of NCAA Division II in assists (89) and points (144), while helping her squad to an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Semifinals. The two-year team captain piled up a number of accolades, including a nomination for the 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, being named a finalist for the CWSA DII Honda Athlete of the Year Award and earning a nomination for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award. She has also been honored as Lacrosse Magazine's Player of the Year, earned three straight IWLCA Attacker of the Year nods and twice been recognized as a CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Rohr, the 2014 ECC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and two-time national champion, anchored the Pioneers' defensive blockade. The Bethpage, N.Y. native spearheaded the Pioneers' defensive unit, which limited the opposition to the third-fewest goals against in the country. She totaled 36 ground balls and caused eight turnovers in the process. For her efforts, Rohr was picked to the IWLCA All-Region and All-America first-team squads as well. Additionally, her achievements in the classroom helped her capture ECC Scholar-Athlete of the Year accolades.

In total, the IWLCA recognized 738 student-athletes across 162 NCAA Division I, II and III institutions. To see the full release, please click here.
