Manfred Kapper enters his first season as an assistant coach for the C.W. Post men’s soccer team, bringing an extensive resume of both coaching and playing experience to Dieter Ficken’s staff.
 
Kapper comes to Brookville following five years of involvement with the Olympic Development Program of New York.  While with ODP, he led the Eastern New York State Boys Under-17 team to a 2006 Regional Finals Appearance.  One year later, he led the same age group to a 2007 Regional Championship.  In addition to his ODP positions, Kapper also served as the Under-11 and Under-16  head coach for the Albertson Soccer Club, and the Under-11 and Under-15 head coach for the Hewlett Soccer Club, and the trainer for the Under-15 boys and Under-11 girls teams of the Garden City Soccer Club, all during the past five years.
 
The Manhasset, N.Y. resident also complied an impressive international coaching and playing career, mainly in Austria, serving from 1996-2001 as the head director of the youth program for FC Biedermansdorf, from 1999-2001 as the head coach of the semi-professional 4 division SC Hainfeld, and from 2001-2002 as the head coach of semi-pro 3 division SC Achau. 
 
Kapper’s playing career also spanned several decades and continents, as he most recently competed for the Greek American Atlas out of Astoria, N.Y.  Prior to his nine years with Atlas, he played semi-pro for the Albany (NY) Capitals, following a four year professional stint with the AC Admira Wacker of Austria.  Kapper was also member of the Austrian National team, competing internationally for four years.
 
In 2007, Kapper received his National ‘A’ coaching license from the USSF, follwing a 2006 NCSAA ‘C’ coaching license.  He also has a ‘B’ license from the United European Football Association. He is 1981 graduate of University – Federal Research Institute of Higher Technology of Moedling, where he studied Precision Engineering, and a 1981 graduate of Austria National Business School. 
 
Kapper currently resides in Manhasset, N.Y.
