John McDermott joins LIU Post as the programs first Esports head coach in 2019.
 
McDermott comes to Brookville after serving as the founding member of the Saint John’s University Esports program in 2018. During his career, he also worked as a head producer and caster for Duo Esports and also was a manager for Eunited League of Legends in 2015.
 
Outside of Esports, McDermott is an avid football fan and has spent time working in various football settings. He has served as the Defensive Coordinator for the New York Patriots non-profit minor league football team and also worked as a manager for FDU-Florham’s football team from 2010-13.
 
McDermott graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Arts History in 2014 from FDU-Florham and went on to earn his master’s degree in Professional Sports Management from Saint John’s in 2018.
