GRANDLAKE, Colo. - The accolades keep rolling in for freshman
Hailey Duchnowski of the No. 5/11 LIU Post women's lacrosse team as she was named Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Division II National Defensive Player of the Week Wednesday afternoon.
Duchnowski had a stellar week as she tallied 28 saves. Her 14 saves helped the Pioneers take down second-ranked Adelphi University 10-9 in overtime on Saturday, March 30 at Motamed Field. She also turned away 14 shots against Stonehill College on Wednesday, March 27 at W.B. Mason Stadium in LIU Post's 16-12 victory.
She has been honored as East Coast Conference (ECC) Defensive Player of the Week on three occasions so far this season; Monday, February 25, Monday, March 11 and Monday, April 1. Her 55.0 save percentage leads the ECC and ranks fifth in the nation.
Duchnowski and the Pioneers will be in action this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. when they host Queens College at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
