ROCKVILLE CENTER, N.Y. – The LIU Post baseball team moved to a stellar 17-2 in East Coast Conference (ECC) play Saturday afternoon at Mitchell Field after picking up a doubleheader sweep of Molloy College. The Pioneers were victorious 8-1 in game one and 3-2 in game two.
 
LIU Post had another impressive offensive showing as it combined for 11 runs and 19 hits on a day where it finished with a .306 batting average.
 
Senior Reynaldo Guillen led LIU Post at the plate, going 5-for-7 and driving in four runs. Sophomore Christopher Wasson went 4-for-8 and had two RBI while redshirt junior Andy Camilo added three hits and one RBI. Also making an impact was senior Anthony Vaglica, who had two hits, including a home run in game two, along with two RBI. Senior Michael Manzione  finished with two hits while junior Zach Fritz and freshman Giovanni Ciaccio contributed one hit apiece.
 
Junior Noah Lorenzo earned the win for LIU Post in game one after he went the distance and only allowed one run, one walk and seven hits. In game two, junior Mike Stiles also threw a complete game and had eight strikeouts along with only two earned runs.
 
Game One – LIU Post 8, Molloy 1
The Pioneers got off to a hot start in game one, putting four runs on the Lions in the top of the first inning. Camilo ripped and RBI single to third base then with the bases loaded, Fritz was hit by a pitch, advancing Manzione from third base to home. LIU Post would end the frame with a 4-0 advantage after a two RBI single to center field by Guillen.
 
While the Lions put a run on the board in the bottom of the fifth, Guillen earned his third RBI of the contest in the top of the eighth after he knocked a single through the left side that scored Camilo in the top of the eighth. The game would end with a final score of 8-1 after a two RBI single to center field by Wasson, also in the top of the eighth.
 
Game Two – LIU Post 3, Molloy 2
It was the Lions who took an early lead in game two as they jumped ahead 2-0 in the top of the third. The Pioneers showed resilience in the fourth inning as Stiles struck out two Lions in the top of the frame then in the bottom the LIU Post offense battled back to level the score, 2-2. Wasson scored on a wild pitch and Guillen ripped an RBI single to second base.
 
In the bottom of the sixth, Vaglica blasted a home run two left field that gave the Pioneers a 3-2 lead which they held on to for the remainder of the contest
