INDIANAPOLIS – In the first installment of the NCAA Division II Regional Rankings, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team checked in at No. 5 in the East Region.
Also ranked No. 9 nationally by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and No. 15 by U.S. Lacrosse Magazine, the Pioneers have an 11-3 record on the season and are 5-1 in East Coast Conference (ECC) play.
The Pioneers have earned five ranked wins this season; they defeated No. 16/20 Merrimack College 7-2 on Saturday, February 23, No. 2/2 Adelphi University on Saturday, March 30 and No. 15 Mercy College 18-17 on Saturday, April 6.
In its most recent game, LIU Post defeated the No. 16/20 University of New Haven 21-20 in overtime on Tuesday, April 16 after junior
Brianna Feldman fired a shot into back of the cage in overtime that sealed the victory for the Pioneers.
