BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU Post baseball team suffered a 12-7 setback against East Stroudsburg University Wednesday afternoon at the LIU Post Baseball Stadium.
Sophomore
Christopher Wasson led the Pioneers with a 3-for-5 outing and two runs while redshirt-junior
Andy Camilo went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Senior
Dave Brehm added two hits while junior
Zach Fritz, senior
Joe Piscitelli and senior
Michael Greene each had a hit.
East Stroudsburg took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but a two RBI single to left field by Camilo and an RBI single to right field by Piscitelli gave the Pioneers a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the first.
In the top of the fifth the Warriors made it a 3-3 game then jumped ahead 10-3 in the top of the sixth. LIU Post made a dent in ESU's lead in the bottom of the sixth after Camilo ripped an RBI single down the left field line then scored on a passed ball to make it 10-5. Piscitelli scored after senior
Jimmy Mendyk flew out to third base to make it a 10-6 game heading into the bottom of the seventh.
The Warriors added two more runs in the top of the seventh then an RBI single to shortstop by Greene made it a 12-7 contest, which would end up as the final score of the game.
