Women’s Lacrosse Jumps to No. 5/11 in National Rankings

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – On the heels of taking down then second-ranked Adelphi University 10-9 in overtime on Saturday, March 30 at Motamed Field the LIU Post women's lacrosse team moved up to No. 5/11 in the national polls.
 
LIU Post checked in at No. 5 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) poll after garnering 501 votes to move up from No. 9. The Pioneers' No. 5 ranking is the highest they have been ranked in the IWLCA poll this season. In the Nike/U.S. Lacrosse Magazine poll, LIU Post moved up to No. 11 from No. 13.
 
Along with its triumph over Adelphi that came courtesy of a goal by senior Trish Brisotti in overtime, the Pioneers also defeated Stonehill College 16-12 on Wednesday, March 27 at W.B. Mason Stadium in Easton, Massachusetts.
