CLERMONT, Fla. – The LIU Post softball team split two games on its third day of competition at THE Spring Games, defeating Felician University 17-0 before falling to Georgian Court University, 6-2.

Senior Julia Seader and junior Allie Laird posted four hits apiece on the day, with freshman Jayna Rios leading four players with two hits. Seader added her third home run of the season and drove in four runs overall, while junior Megan Sneeden posted five RBI.

In the circle, junior Katie Humhej tossed a one-hit shutout against the Golden Falcons, striking out two batters to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Game One – LIU Post 17, Felician 0

Seader and junior Abbey Fortin drove in a pair of runs in the Pioneers first three at-bats of the day, and Sneeden capped off a four-run first inning with a two-run single to put the Green and Gold ahead, 4-0. The Pioneers took full control with six runs during the fourth inning and another seven tallies during the fifth for the run-rule victory.

Game Two – Georgian Court 6, LIU Post 2

It was Seader once again getting things started for LIU Post, blasting a solo home run to right-center field during the bottom of the first inning. The Lions responded with three runs, however, in their following at bat to take a lead that would not be relinquished the rest of the way.

Georgian Court added one run in the fifth and two runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach for good, holding off LIU Post as the Lions improved to 10-3 on the year.
