RESULTS

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. –
The LIU Post women's swimming team split its tri-meet Saturday as it defeated Millersville University 131-103 and fell to Kutztown University 128-119 inside Pucillo Natatorium.
 
The Pioneers won eight out of the 14 events; seniors Karis Fuller, Caitlin Johnstone and Tove Sparrman each won two individual events and junior Elizabeth Law won one.

Pioneer Relays
LIU Post won both relays; the team of Fuller, Johnstone, Sparrman and Law clocked in at 1:49.83 seconds to take first in the 200-yard medley relay to open the meet. Johnstone, Fuller, Law and Sparrman then ended the meet on a high note, placing first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:41.52 seconds.
 
Top Individual Performers
Fuller took first in the 100 and 200 backstroke events with times of 58.63 and 2:06.83 seconds while Johnstone also earned a pair of wins, placing first in the 100 breaststroke after touching the wall at 1:01.11 seconds and the 200 breaststroke in 2:28.10 seconds.
 
Sparrman's times of 2:00.66 seconds and 56.82 seconds in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly also saw her claim first-place in both events. Law also won the 100 freestlyle with a time of 56.82.
 
Sophomore Emily Shoup's time of 11:35.68 seconds saw her finish second in the 1000 freestyle while she also took third in the 500 freestyle in 5:35.49 seconds. Sophomore Britney Caprio earned a pair of third-place finishes with times of 1:02.50 seconds in the 100 backstroke and 2:17.15 seconds in the 200 backstroke.
