UNITED SOCCER COACHES PRESEASON POLL

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches released its preseason national poll Tuesday, with the LIU Post men's soccer team earning the No. 6 ranking and comes in as the top-ranked squad in the East Region.
 
The Green and Gold captured its third consecutive East Region title in four seasons a year ago and are looking to build upon its recent success in 2018. LIU Post returns several key pieces to the lineup this season, including the reigning East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year in Lukas Ostermann and Goalkeeper of the Year in Oliver Hessner Hansen.
 
First-year head coach Michael Mordocco will look to gel the new-look Pioneers quickly with a roster that features several talented newcomers along with the core strength in returners. The Green and Gold will face a tough task right out of the gates to begin the season as the opening matchup features a top-15 showdown with No. 13 Adelphi University on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Motamed Field.
