Women's Golf Closes Out Season at Williams Spring Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The LIU Post women's golf team closed out its 2018 season at the Williams Spring Invitational hosted by Taconic Golf Club April 28 and 29.
 
The Pioneers finished in eighth place, posting a two-day total of 756.
 
Junior Abby Snidemiller led the Pioneers with rounds of 91 and 92, finishing 40th overall. Classmate Natalia Schaefer finished three shots back with a combined score of 186, while fellow junior Marissa Bennett and freshman Claire Pohalski rounded out the team scoring at 192 and 195, respectively.
 
Snidemiller carded five pars during her opening round, tallying a 44 on her inward nine. The junior added four pars on day two with a 45 on the back nine. Schaefer was also solid on day one, notching six pars and a birdie on the par-4 15th. Schaefer ended her tournament with a par on the par-5 18th to close out a 45 on the back nine.
 
Pohalski matched Snidemiller and Schaefer for the low round of the day Saturday, carding a 91 during the first round. The first-year member recorded three consecutive pars to begin her back nine on the opening day, eventually carding four pars in a five-hole stretch to shoot 45 on the inward nine. Bennett added five pars throughout the weekend, notching consecutive even-par scores on the par-4 11th and 12th holes on day one.
 
Fellow freshman Clare Alamio finished as the fifth golfer for the Pioneers, compiling a two-day total of 249.
