Women's Lacrosse Keeps No. 7 Ranking in the National Polls

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – After taking down No. 12/17 New York Institute of Technology in the Battle of the Boulevard rivalry, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team comes in at No. 7 in the national polls for the second consecutive week.

The Pioneers went 2-0 last week, defeating Queens College and NYIT in East Coast Conference play. It was a dominating performance against the Knights, as LIU Post earned a 17-2 victory that featured a career-high eight saves by sophomore goalkeeper Jill Hummel. LIU Post trailed for over 10 minutes in the first half against the Bears, but a 5-0 run to close out the first half put the momentum in its favor for good in what proved to be a huge win with potential NCAA Tournament implications.

The Pioneers close out the regular season this week with two non-conference matchups against nationally ranked opponents, starting with a battle with No. 1/2 Lindenwood University April 25 at 3:00 p.m.
