SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – In its final regular season game of 2018, the No. 7 LIU Post field hockey team defeated American International College 7-1 Friday night at Ronald J. Abdow Field.
LIU Post's seven goals matched its single game season-high and marked the third this season the Pioneers scored seven times.
The Pioneers victory saw it conclude the regular season with a 13-4 overall record and a 12-3 record in Northeast-10 play. The win improved LIU Post's all-time record against AIC improved to 18-1.
"Really happy to see us wrap up the regular season on a high note," said head coach
Raenee Savin. "The conditions made things tough so I was extra pleased to see us score seven goals and match our season-high."

As a team the Pioneers out-shot the Yellow Jackets 17-6 and had more shots on goal 13-4.
At 13:24 Morris scored the game's opening goal after receiving a pass across from a restart on a foul by Martin. A pass by Bell led to Miller's first goal from the right side on the corner and a 2-0 Pioneer lead.
Miller scored her second at 24:14 after receiving a through ball then running into the circle and shooting. AIC bounced back and scored their first goal at 25:14; the score going into halftime was 3-1.
The Pioneers first goal of the second half came courtesy of Miller at 36:10 after she received a pass from the left side of the net toward the middle then turned around and shot. Leitner found Zaino in scoring position after getting her own rebound at 54:49 to give LIU Post a 5-1 lead then at 58:18 Brodsky found herself on the receiving end of a Miller assist to put the Pioneers ahead 6-1. Leitner scored the final goal of the game at 69:02 after receiving a long upfield pass from Zaino and beating the goalkeeper to the left.
