BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – LIU Post women's rugby head coach
John Royal announced Wednesday that SaraGrace Mc Cannon and Lynsey Danko have signed letters of intent to join the program.
Mc Cannon is a loose forward from Havre de Grace, Maryland, and attended Edgewood High School. She has been involved with rugby since the sixth grade, playing touch with her local team. She began playing full contact rugby with her high school team when she was eighth grade and also played for North Bay Rugby, her local club team. Danko has been a member of the Maryland Select Sides team for the past three season and has played at invitational tournaments, the New York and Las Vegas Sevens, with the New Jersey Blaze select team. She also played lacrosse all four years during high school.
Danko is from Southington, Connecticut, attended Southington High School and plays as a center and a winger. She represented the Connecticut State All Star Team for two years and was a two-sport athlete as she earned four varsity letters in volleyball, where she was team captain and an all-state honoree. Danko was a member of the National honors Society and will be a veterinary technology major.
