FULL WOMEN'S GOOGLE CLOUD ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Information Directors of America announced the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Teams for men's and women's soccer, garnering three LIU Post student-athletes with the prestigious recognition.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve player for their respective teams, participated in at least 50-percent of the team's contests, accomplished a 3.30 or better cumulative grade point average, and has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and have attended at least one calendar year at their current institution.
Graduate student
Lukas Ostermann was the lone honoree for the Pioneer men's soccer team, earning a 3.37 graduate school GPA in the Master of Business Administration program. On the pitch, Ostermann earned East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year recognition, ranking second in Division II with 23 goals and 52 points.
On the women's soccer team, senior
Alice Schonfeldt and junior
Gabrielle Clark were rewarded for their academic and athletic success as well. Schonfeldt, a psychology major, has accrued a 3.72 GPA, while Clark, a political science major, boasts a 3.97 GPA. On the field, Schonfeldt leads LIU Post with nine assists out of the back line, while also adding three goals. Clark has served as a dynamic two-way player in the midfield, scoring two goals and adding two assists.
All three student-athletes are now eligible for the Google Cloud Academic All-America award, recognizing the best student-athletes across all of Division II. The 2018 Academic All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
