GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Led by five different double-figure scorers, the LIU Post women's basketball team rolled past Adelphi University, 85-73 inside the Center for Recreation and Sport on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Senior Sasha Patterson led the scoring barrage with 20 points while also hauling in 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Junior Dominique Williams netted a career-high 18 points in just 24 minutes off the bench, finishing a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line. Fellow junior Robyn Francis also finished with a new career-high in points, netting 15 points in 20 minutes. Senior Shannon Doyle and junior Asia Turner chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively.

As a team, LIU Post finished an impressive 34-of-37 from the charity stripe, the most made free throws since the Pioneers made 36-of-45 attempts against Molloy College on Jan. 22, 2014. Despite shooting 46-percent during the first half, LIU Post finished 22-for-23 at the free-throw line to build a 25-point lead at the halftime intermission, 52-27.

The Panthers clawed back during the third quarter, outscoring LIU Post 24-11 after the defense held the Pioneers to just 27-percent shooting during the stanza. The Green and Gold won the game at the line, however, making 10-of-12 attempts in the fourth quarter to net 22 points to hold off Adelphi and improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Pioneers will host Caldwell University for their first of six-consecutive home games inside the Pratt Recreation Center on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 5:00 p.m.
