NEW YORK, N.Y. – The LIU Post indoor track and field teams continued its seasons at the Dr. Sanders Invitational Armory Challenge Friday, Jan. 26.
The Pioneers had a solid showing against tough competition at The Armory, with several individuals recording personal best times on the day. For the men's team, senior
Lance Edwards crossed the tape in 2:01.40 during the 800-meter run, besting his previous personal best of 2:02.26 set at the Yale Collegiate Invitational earlier this season. Freshman
Destyn Harding also posted a personal-best time of 23.02 during the 200-meter dash, bettering his previous mark by .64 second which was also run during the Yale Collegiate Invitational.
Graduate student
Stefan Adams posted another strong effort during the 200-meter and 400-meter dash. During the 200m, Adams recorded a time of 22.46 seconds to take 11th out of 60 runners. He followed up the performance with a 14th-place finish out of 54, finishing in 49.96 seconds in the 400m. Sophomore
Twary McKenzie also performed well in the field events, recording a distance of 5.82 meters during the long jump and 12.81 meters during the triple jump.
The women's team also saw two personal bests on the day, beginning with sophomore
Nicolette Agostinacchio who clocked a time of 1:20.37 during the 500-meter dash, breaking her best mark of 1:22.10 set last season. Sophomore
Alexandria Okon recorded her second-fastest time during the same event, finishing in 1:02.45, less than a second behind her personal best set last week during the Ramapo College Season Opener. Freshman
Jacqueline Ginty also clocked a personal record during the 200-meter dash with a 26.57 second finish. Freshman
Nataly Ramirez competed in the 400-meter dash for the second time of her young career, notching a time of 1:02.45.
The Green and Gold return to the track at the Metropolitan Championships, Feb. 2.
