BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Highlighted by junior
Vittorio Argeri (Genoa, Italy) recording his first Pioneer goal, the LIU Post men's soccer team beat East Coast Conference competitor Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday, 4-1, in Pioneer Soccer Park.
The green and gold struck first, as Argeri beat two defenders and crossed a ball to the lower right corner to give LIU Post the 1-0 advantage. Just under twenty minutes later, graduate
Lukas Ostermann (Saterland, Germany) netted his sixth goal off of a
Martin Lozano (Buenos Aires, Argentina) assist. The Pioneers capped off their first-half offense as junior
Charlie Ledula (London, England) found the back of the net for the fifth time this season with assists credited to
Johann Kristjansson (Reykjavik, Iceland) and
Harry Pearse (Berkshire, London, England).
Roberts Wesleyan answered back in the second half with a goal to the left side, but the green and gold would remain on top, as Pearse sealed the LIU Post victory, scoring with just thirty seconds to the end of the contest.
