Women's Rugby Drops First Contest Played in Program History

SEAFORD, N.Y. - The LIU Post women's rugby program competed in its first contest in program history on Sunday afternoon against Molloy College at Cedar Creek Park in a sevens contest. The Lions took the match by a score of 32-0.

The Lions did not waste any time getting on the board as Siobhan Coady carried the ball across the try line at the 6:39 mark in the first half to give them an early 5-0 lead. They added another two tries and a conversion in the first half, taking a 17-0 advantage into the intermission. 

Molloy added another three tries in the second half securing a 32-0 victory.

Next up for Head Coach John Royal and the Pioneers is the first home contest in program history as they host Castleton on Sunday, Sept. 10 for a 1 p.m. match-up at Robert Blitz Field.
