CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - Junior goalkeeper Oliver Hessner Hansen (Vaerloese, Denmark) of the eighth-ranked LIU Post men's soccer team was named this week's East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

In the Pioneers' lone game of the week, the netminder turned aside three shots in a shutout at conference-foe Daemen on Saturday.

Hessner Hansen and the Pioneers return to action on Tuesday for their home opener. They host Wilmington for a 4 p.m. start at Pioneer Soccer Park.
