WALTHAM, Mass. – The fourth-ranked LIU Post field hockey team (6-0, 2-0 NE10) defeated conference-foe Bentley (0-7, 0-3 NE10) by a score of 3-1, at Bentley Field on Saturday.
Bentley struck first to take a 1-0 lead. This changed when freshman midfielder
Kate Melvin (Milford, Del.) tied it up at 42:14. The green and gold then took the lead at 53:48 when senior forward
Kaycee Zelkovsky (Lambertville, N.J.) scored off a penalty stroke.
Zelkovsky also had an assist to junior forward
Emily Miller (Bridgewater, N.J.) that gave LIU Post a commanding 3-1 lead.
The Pioneers return to action on Tuesday, September 26 in Worcester, Mass. versus Assumption College.
