BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Jun. 14, 2017) - LIU Post Head Softball Coach Jamie Apicella continued to add depth to his touted recruiting class Wednesday with the addition of Amanda Arena (West Islip, N.Y.) for the 2018 season.

Arena was a five-year starter for the varsity softball team at West Islip High School, where she played both first base and the outfield.

Arena was a two-time All-County selection and earned All-Division honors in 2017. In her junior season, she boasted the seventh-highest batting average in Suffolk County with a .574 clip.

"We are extremely excited to add Amanda to an already athletic and versatile freshman class," stated Apicella. "I project her to be an offensive force in our line-up for years to come and provide us with depth on the defensive side."
