Rob Andreoli (North Wantagh, N.Y.) and senior pitcher
Dan Jagiello (West Islip, N.Y.) have been selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association Division II All-East Region Team, it was announced Wednesday.
Andreoli, an ABCA All-Region first-team selection, enjoyed the best offensive season of his career in 2017. He led the team in batting average (.346), hits (73), runs scored (42), doubles (15), RBIs (44), stolen bases (44) and slugging percentage (.488) and ranked in the Top-10 in the East Coast Conference in each of those categories.
Additionally, Andreoli had 22 multi-hit games on the year and reached base safely in 15 straight contests from Apr. 28 to May 20, en route to being named the ECC and ECAC Division II Player of the Year.
Jagiello, who claimed ABCA All-Region second-team honors, led all relievers in the league with a school-record 12 saves, breaking former standout
Anthony Rinaldi's mark of 8 in 2007.
He finished the season with a team-best 1.93 earned-run average and limited opposing hitters to a .216 batting average against, while amassing 38 strikeouts in 23.1 innings pitched.
