DANBURY, Conn. (May 23, 2017) - The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced its 2017 All-ECAC selections for Division II men's lacrosse Tuesday, and LIU Post had three players earn citations.
Junior midfielders
Dylan Harned (Selden, N.Y.) and
Kris Alvarado (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder
Connor Farrell (Holtsville, N.Y.) were named to the ECAC All-Star First Team.
Harned received his first-ever All-East Coast Conference nod this season with a team-leading 34 goals. Six of those tallies came on the man-up, which were tied for the third-most in the league.
He also had a point in each of the team's 16 contests and scored the deciding goal with 12 seconds left in an 11-10 victory at Florida Southern on Feb. 6.
Alvarado, an All-ECC first-team selection in 2017, played in every game this year for the Pioneers and finished with two goals and four assists for six points.
Additionally, he totaled 32 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers and helped to lead a defensive unit that limited opponents to the second-lowest goals-against average (8.12) in the ECC.
Lastly, Farrell was one of the green and gold's primary faceoff specialists this season and won 126-of-196 draws for a stellar .643 winning percentage. He netted the first two goals of his collegiate career, as well.
