CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 2, 2017) - After scoring four goals in two games last week, LIU Post women's lacrosse freshman midfielder Alyssa Mallery (Wantagh, N.Y.) received a nod as the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

It is the third time this season that Mallery has earned the honor. She was previously named the league's rookie of the week on Mar. 13 and Apr. 10.

Mallery tallied a game-high-tying three of her four goals last Wednesday (Apr. 26) in a 15-3 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas. She also led all players with six draw controls in the effort.

In just her first year with the green and gold, Mallery has registered 23 goals and six assists for 29 points. Additionally, she has won the eighth-most draws in the ECC with 46.

Mallery and the Pioneers are back in action Thursday (May 4), when they take on Roberts Wesleyan College in an East Coast Conference Championship semifinal at 3 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credt Union Stadium in Brookville.
