Bendfeldt Earns Spot on CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 16, 2017) - The College Sports Information Directors of America recently announced its Academic All-District At-Large selections, and LIU Post junior swimmer Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) earned a nod to the Division II team.

Bendfeldt, who carries a stellar 3.99 cumulative grade-point average in International Business, is the first Pioneer swimmer since Tamara Garriock in 2014 to receive the honor.

This year, Bendfeldt was named the Metropolitan Conference and ECAC Swimmer of the Meet, and qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships in three events.

She was also recognized to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team and placed no lower than second (13 first-place finishes) in any individual event at a dual meet.
