PINEHURST, N.C. (Mar. 18, 2017) - On Saturday, the LIU Post women's golf team opened its spring season with a fifth-place finish at the BrownGolf Invitational at the Country Club of Whispering Pines in Pinehurst.
The Pioneers carded a score of 711 (362-349) in the two-round tournament, while West Chester shot a 673 (337-336) to win the team title.
The green and gold were led by graduate
Hannah Pohalski (Huntington, N.Y.), who tied for 12th with a 26-over 170.
Freshman
Shannon Fox (Holbrook, N.Y.) followed in 17th place with a two-day score of 176.
Sophomore
Abby Snidemiller (Apex, N.C.) shot a 181, which was good for a 29th-place finish.
Fellow sophomore
Natalia Schaefer (St. James, N.Y.) finished 41st, after carding a 192. Senior
Shelby Townsend (Panora, Iowa) tied for 42nd with a 49-over 193.
Lastly, sophomore
Marissa Bennett (Fishkill, N.Y.) added a 57th-place score of 210.

Craig Maerki and his LIU Post squad are back in action from Apr. 9-10, when they compete at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational in West Chester, Pa.
