SOUTH HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (Feb. 12, 2017)
- The LIU Post men's and women's indoor track and field teams ran to a pair of Top-10 showings Saturday at the St. Joseph's College Winter Invitational at St. Anthony's High School.

The men's team recorded a stellar sixth-place finish, while the women's team placed seventh out of 21 squads.

Freshman Twary McKenzie (Huntington, N.Y.) led the men's side with a second-place mark of 14.23 meters (46 feet, 8.25 inches) in the triple jump. His leap was a 4-foot personal-best, as well.

Senior Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.) took fourth in the 800-meter run, crossing at 2:00.91. He also ran the opening leg of the Pioneers' 4 x 200-meter relay, which finished third at 1:33.39.

Red-shirt junior Ramel Joseph (Jamaica, N.Y.) placed 11th in the 200-meter dash with a 23.23 clocking. Red-shirt sophomore Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) and red-shirt junior Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) each won their respective heats in the 60-meter dash, sprinting to times of 7.25 and 7.44.

In the 3,000-meter run, junior Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) posted a 12th-place time of 9:32.07. Graduate Steven Arnone (Staten Island, N.Y.) followed in 24th at 9:52.19.

For the women, freshman Kaitlyn Klein (Richmondville, N.Y.) came in second in the shot put with a heave of 11.63 meters (38 feet, 2 inches). She missed breaking her own school record in the event by eight inches.

In the mile, graduate Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) paced the Pioneers with a third-place mark of 5:17.47. Fellow graduate Ashlin Conroy (Syosset, N.Y.) was fifth (5:22.44) in the race, while sophomore Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) ran eighth and won her heat at 5:40.66.

Additionally, Conroy placed seventh in the 800-meter run at 2:25.22. Stirling finished at an 11th-place time of 2:29.38.

Lastly, in the 400-meter dash, freshman Nicolette Agostinacchio (Wantagh, N.Y.) came in eighth at 1:01.79. Fellow freshman Alexandria Okon (Laurel, Md.) was 11th (1:02.64). Freshman Kaitlyn Jones (Ridgewood, N.Y.) won her heat with a sprint of 1:08.51.

Head Coach Kevin Buckley and his LIU Post squads are back in action Friday (Feb. 17), when they compete at the Artie O'Connor Meet at the New Balance Track and Field Center in Manhattan.
