East Meadow, NY| The LIU Post women's swimming team continued its strong performance in the second day of the 2017 ECAC Winter Swimming and Diving Championship at the Nassau County Aquatic Center at Eisenhower Park..
Karis Fuller came in second at the 200-yard IM after posting a 2:06.69 time earning the team 28 points.
Laura Bendfeldt finished in seventh in the 50-yard freestyle earning a NCAA "B" cut time of 23.87.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Bendfeldt, Caitlin Johnstone, Jessica Argelander, and Tove Sparrman earned a second-place time of 1:35.90.
The Pioneers tacked on another 27 points with help of Gena Mendez's third-place time of 4:32.77 in the 400-yard IM.
Cassie St. Angelo swam the 100-yard butterfly and clocked in at 59.25, which was good enough for a 16th place finish.
>Eline Swensen came in ninth in the 200-yard freestyle, after posting a time of 1:54.85.
Johnston touched the pad at a third-place mark of 1:05.20 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Sparrman continued the Pioneers' on-going success earning a 59.70 ninth-place time in the 100-yard backstroke.
The 400-yard medley relay team of Fuller, Johnstone, Mendez, and Bendfeldt teamed up for a winning time of 3:51.64.
The LIU Post swim team, who are currently in fourth place, heads to the final day of the ECAC Winter Swimming and Diving Championship tomorrow (Dec. 3).
